The A. S. A. promotes and shares knowledge of and interest in all aspects of azaleas, through studies, publications, local and national meetings, an email list, and a website -- to bring together all those whose appreciation of azaleas form a bond of friendship.

Local chapters: meetings, sales, trips, establishment and maintenance of plants and gardens
National: annual meeting, website, free e-mail list (azaleas-subscribe@azaleas.org), sponsorship and participation in academic and other research

Publications:
The Azalean (4 times a year journal) and a chapter newsletter is included in $25 membership
