Our mission is to encourage and improve the science and practice of northern horticulture through developing the public's enjoyment, appreciation and understanding of plants. We offer classes, 'Northern Gardener' magazine, a library, an extensive bookstore and more.

Programs:
MSHS coordinates the Minnesota Green program, which distributes donated plant material to community garden spaces. It also coordinates 'Garden-in-a-Box', a program that distributes raised bed garden enclosures to low income families.
Membership/Dues:
MSHS is a Membership based non-profit organization. Several membership levels are available to serve the needs of individuals, groups, professionals and supporters. For more information please visit www.northerngardener.org
Publications:
The award-winning magazine Northern Gardener is edited exclusively for cold climate gardening. MSHS also publishes a monthly E-newsletter, as well as content on its website and FaceBook page.
Meetings/Conventions:
